Fostering & Permanency Service

Fostering is caring for children in your own home whilst their own parent(s) are unable to look after them. Foster carers look after children for periods lasting between one day and several years. Children may move back to their birth families or move to permanent placements. Some teenagers move on to live independently when they are ready. We are looking for people;

• Who are at least 21 years old; however, there is no age limit as some foster carers continue well into their 70s, as long as they are fit enough.
• Who will make children feel safe, respected and protected.
• Who have at least one bedroom available for the exclusive use of the child or young person. 
• Carers with flexibility and understanding of children and young people.
• With homes where at least one adult is available to meet children’s needs.
• With a sense of humour and a willingness to embrace training as a way to achieve the best outcomes for child in your care.
